Bearing lubrication for low-profile conveyors
Sealed-for-life bearings contain their lubricant within the bearing assembly. Conveyor Technologies uses sealed and lubricated-for-life bearings in its low-profile bearing design; AccuVision is one example.
The belt, drive and other machine components have their own maintenance requirements. Conveyor Technologies can help locate the information for the components fitted to your conveyor.
Belt maintenance
Belt care and adjustment depend on the conveyor arrangement. The belt material, tracking system and belt-release mechanism affect which procedure applies.
For example, the Modular Plastic Belt Conveyor has a belt-release arrangement that creates slack for access beneath the belt. Wire Mesh Belt Conveyor uses replaceable belt sections. The applicable instructions follow the belt and release arrangement fitted to the conveyor.
Belt tensioning and removal
Conveyor Technologies' belt calibration system uses gauges on each side to indicate belt length and tension position. On conveyors equipped with a pivoting tail release, the tail moves back to create slack while retaining the calibration setting.
The release arrangement and access requirements vary by conveyor. AccuVision's two-minute belt change, for example, applies when it is mounted on Conveyor Technologies' open stand design.
